Ramona Bautista Denies Hand in her Brother's Killing; Admits She Was Not Abducted

Ramona "Mara" Bautista breaks her silence about the murder of his older brother Ramgen "Ram" Bautista, son of former senator/actor Ramon Revilla Sr.

Ramona and Ram are Ramon Revilla Sr.'s children with the former actress, Genelyn Magsaysay.

Ramona was labeled by Paranaque Police as one of the accomplices of Ram's murder, along with their brother Ramon Joseph Bautista (said to be the mastermind of the crime). According to the police, the case could be considered closed.

However, in her exclusive interview with ABS-CBN correspondent Gigi Grande (Dateline Philippines, ANC), November 4, Ramona denies her alleged involvement in the crime.

Ramona admitted that she lied to the police about being kidnapped by the masked killer of Ram after he killed Ram and shoot Ram's girlfriend, Janelle Manahan.

But, Ramona confirmed that she was at their home in BF Homes, Paranaque, when the crime was done.

RAMONA'S STORY

According to Ramona, before the crime took place, she was talking with her brother Ram about buying iPhone video for their brother in Baguio.

She said that Ram and Janelle was then attacked by the masked killer. Janelle was suddenly shot by the killer and Ramona did not even notice it at first.

She heard Ram yelling "Who are you? Who are you?". Ram fought the killer until Ramona heard him screaming in pain. Ram rushed to their room and forced it shut. The killer's hand was even crushed between the door lid.

According to Ramona, Ram saved her life. She also tried to revive Ram's life but it was too late. She also tried to help Janelle and asked her where the car keys were so she could bring them to hospital. But, at this point, Janelle was no longer capable of talking.

Ramona said that she feared about her life, making her go out of their house. At that moment, one of her siblings arrived in a car and she ran to the car and rode with her sibling to get far away from the house, fearing that the killer might still be there.

She then later on learned that Janelle survived, while her brother Ram did not.

Out of shame for leaving Ram and Janelle, she lied to the police about being kidnapped. She said that she was abandoned by the killer at Star Mall, Las Pinas. Ramona explained that she was not in the proper state of mind, that's why she was able to leave her brother and Janelle and then lied about it. All she wanted to do was to get far away from the killer at their house that night. According to her, she panicked.

Even if Ramona took back her statement about being kidnapped, she strongly denies being an accomplice to the crime.

Ramona claims that she has a clean conscience.

JANELLE'S TESTIMONY

Ramona's statement does not conincide with Janelle's testimony.

According to Janelle in her testimony from Asian Hospital, Albang, Muntinlupa, November 3, more than one man attacked her and Ram, in contrast with Ramona's statement that only one man attacked them.

According to Janelle, she opened the door for Ramona. After a few minutes, the masked killer went inside and attacked them. She said that she asked Ramona to call for an ambulance right after the attack. But ambulance never came, and Ramona was gone.
