Osteoporosis in men, possible?

In the past years, it was believed that post menopausal women were more likely to have osteoporosis, a disease of bone - leading to an increased risk of fracture, than old men. However, a study conducted by scientist showed that 1/3 of old men have fractured hips and vertebrae because of osteoporosis.

The main cause of male osteoporosis is the unhealthy lifestyle (i.e. genetic predisposition, lowered levels of androgen and testosterone (usually in tandem with small testes), insufficient physical activities, smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, low calcium intake, deficient absorption of calcium, and decreased levels of Vitamin D). Because of this, more and more old men acquire this disease.

That's why, experts strongly recommend clean and healthy lifestyle to avoid having diseases, such as male osteoporosis.
